DETAILS TO CONSIDER WHEN SELECTING A DRIVER EDUCATION CLASS:

  • Athletes:  If you/your student is an athlete it is to their advantage to take the earlier Summer classes, as most Fall/Winter sports begin workouts and practices in August. Many of the sports have year round workouts in the mornings, so please consider the afternoon classes.

  • Age/Grade:  It is recommended for upperclassmen and students 16-18yrs old to take the June/July classes, as this will put them driving sooner rather than later. If you/your Seniors is a first semester graduate please let us know, as once you/your student graduates in January we will be unable to complete the driving sessions until they receive their NC Permit. We will go over how to prepare for going to the DMV with you during your class. If you/your student turns 18 before they are able to complete their driving lessons they will need to get their NC Permit before we can complete their lessons.

  • Employment: Currently, the latest class we have scheduled is 4:00pm - 7:00pm, if there is a need for a later class please let us know by sending an email to: barbaragarmon.jdsc@gmail.com - write in the subject line "Later Summer Class" and include your requested time. Remember the classes are 3-hrs. long. If there is an overwhelming need, we will consider adjusting one of the classes.

Fall Class Dates will be posted in Late August - Early September:  We are awaiting final confirmation from our instructors and the schools about class schedules

For any questions email our Person County Coordinator at personco.jdsc@gmail.com
